Description

Visit Jodhpur, also known as the Blue City, on this private full-day tour. You'll marvel at architectural masterpieces, like Mehrangarh Fort and its royal palaces, enjoy a buffet lunch, and explore Sardar Market winding around the city’s historic clock tower.

Your adventure begins at 9am meeting your guide at your hotel, the airport, or the train station. You’ll then set off to explore the Mehrangarh Fort, one of India’s largest forts, where you can admire the grandeur and intricate details of its sandstone palaces, as your guide shares the history of its construction and decoration by skilled sculptors. You’ll then travel  to nearby Jaswant Thada, a 19th century marble monument honoring former Marwar ruler, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II.

After visiting three other nearby historic monuments, around 1pm you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch. After lunch, you’ll visit Umaid Bhawan Palace, where you’ll learn about how the palace’s construction provided much needed employment to citizens during a time of famine, and about its current role as the royal family’s home. At the palace’s museum, you’ll see weapons, clocks, china, trophies, and tableware from the Maharaja and his royal family’s collection.

Next, you’ll soak up the vibrancy of the city’s historic clock tower and open-air Sardar Market with vendors selling brightly-colored bangles, shoes, fruits, vegetables, clothing, and homewares. Your adventure will conclude with an included transfer back to your hotel or the train station at approximately 5pm.

Take an evening visit to the clock tower and Sadar Market. Spend time at this open-air market with its lively atmosphere. Return to your hotel or the railway station at the end of your tour.
